I was sitting at home, staring out the windows, when the message came. “Want to go on a photography road-trip with me?” How could I refuse? Below is briefly how the trip went…

Day 0

Day zero started off with a Lyft to Boulder where I was meeting up with Ben Huseman. The ride was a long one and ended up costing $108 before the tip. I’d never been to Ben's workplace and was unsure exactly where I’d be meeting him. Regardless, we met up with little issue and I loaded my gear into Ben's Tacoma, and then, off we went. The destination for the evening was near Grand Teton National Park (GTNP).
Approximately eight hours later, we arrived without incident and began to scout the area we had planned for a sunrise shoot, Oxbow Bend, then we made for camp.

Behind-The-Scenes (BTS) at Oxbow Bend

It would be my first night in the rear seat area of a Toyota Tacoma. Tight fit. If you aren’t familiar with the vehicle, there’s not a lot of space for sleeping in the rear cab. I’m not the tallest individual in the world and even I couldn’t extend my legs at all. I’d have to sleep in the fetal position. I’m not a side sleeper by any means. Regardless, this was many times better than sitting at home and I was grateful for the opportunity.
