Morning Time Well Spent
Do you ever go to sleep with your morning planned out only to wake up the next morning and, while you are warm and cozy in bed, start rethinking your plans? Yeah? well, don’t! :-)
Driving toward the scene, I could see the skies in front of me developing. I had a feeling that the morning was going to be a great one!
I pulled up to the area and parked a bit further down the street than I normally do. I did this because the last time I was here, a lady tried to chase me off with a broom. Okay, she didn’t really have a broom, but she wasn’t happy with me standing along the road taking pictures of the rising sun. Unsure why, her house is at my back when I am taking photos. I asked if she wanted me to move. She replied, “Never mind.”
Later, her husband came down the driveway in their car. I flagged him down in the hopes of clearing up any misunderstanding. He rolled his window down and said, “I’m in a hurry!” before driving off. I took that as, “Sorry for bothering you while you were peacefully trying to enjoy the morning’s beautiful sunrise. Have a great day!” I take it that way because I wasn’t doing anything wrong and, if I was, I am sure they’d have let me know. If only people worked harder to be pleasant. Anyhoo, back to today…
The sunrise was spectacular and nice-n-slow. It was nice not having to rush through in the hopes of squeezing off as many different compositions as I could. I could take my time and enjoy the moment more than some mornings.
After shooting East, I gathered my things, headed to another location, and pointed my sights toward the West. If you look closely at the below image, you can get an idea of my next composition. I’ll save that for another blog. ;-)
If only every morning out could be this productive. Though, I assume if they were, they’d not be as special. :-)
